Born in Kirkland, Washington, I graduated from Snohomish High School in 2006.
I am passionate about education and have worked in higher-ed since 2009, first starting in the Campus Life offices at Central Washington University. I have volunteered hundreds of hours with organizations such as AUAP (Asian University America Program) and FIUTS (Foundation for International Understanding Through Students). Since graduating in 2012, I have worked for the Laurasian Institution, the Yaruki Switch Group, Publicis Groupe Japan, as well as the University of Washington.
As a graduate student at UW, I took courses on Japanese constitutional law, and wrote my thesis on naishinsho (secret pupil reports) and how they contributed to the ongoing privatization of Japan’s education landscape. During this time I also studied at Waseda University in Tokyo.
For over 14 years now, I have worked passionately to improve educational access for thousands of students in Asia and the US. I have personally taught students of all ages, and continue to find new ways to apply my knowledge, experience and zeal for cultivating international understanding through affordable and accessible education.
